I am starting to write again, and reading through old posts. Trying to figure out over the last few years where I have gone-- what I have done.  These posts linked below I think are fun. Interesting to look back on your own history.

Fairyland

There are times that you believe, and wishes you hope to come true. Honduras was just that. A culture that is welcoming, a hope that you can do....... There are bigger fishes in this sea.

gone painting

Two Sugars, 2011

Painting always holds surprises to me. It unveils a truth that I didn't know existed, a passion that for me can only be expressed by a palette.
Pursuing painting and photography is ....well....a pursuit. The photo can hold the physical truth of a day, and a painting the exact opposite. It holds the meaning felt. I enjoy the comparison of the two, as well as discovering the meaning in both.

Patchlyfe, 2011  20x24

Having a lot on my plate lately, from coaching to 2 jobs, numerous art shows and projects, I feel Ive patched together my time in a cohesive manner.

When studying the great artists of DeKooning, Matisse, to even Dali, these artists pieced together abstractions to balance a frame they built. As we do this in life, it is important to do it as well in art.

Every action has a counterbalance, a frame that supports it, and a historic layer of the past. My paintings consist of this. This piece I did tonight is from a canvas from when I was about 17. Tonight I tore it from its frame, stripped down its layers, and created anew. I enjoy it. Its an end to a new beginning.

Over the past few months I have been interested in the abstract of the landscape, and the ideas it can offer.  Figures tell story line, as well define land and mass. The absence of figures lets the viewer recognize the structure for as it is. I enjoy this. People occupy our everyday, and the opposite is the absence of it.
